Use these dependable, economical risers for attaching sprinkler heads, bubblers and micro-sprays to your irrigation system. When under pressure, polyethylene risers expand to seal spaces around threads, and eliminate the need for Teflon tape. A riser extender (919107 above) allows extension of sprinkler height, without head replacement, in areas where sprinkler heads have receded below the desired grade level due to turf growth or soil surface changes.

How To Use Tips
Don't over stress your system by using Schedule 80 Risers with Schedule 40 Fittings. Extreme pressure buildup may result in breakage of the fitting, rather than the riser. It's a lot easier to replace a riser instead of digging up and repairing broken fittings! Poly risers should be all you'll ever need. Schedule 80 Fittings are designed to handle main line pressures. They're good with large valves and Schedule 80 Pipe in systems like those needed for golf courses and parks. Use a Nipple Stub Extractor Wrench to remove damaged or broken risers without digging up the affected area.
Remember, a poly riser is a weak link, this is a cheap fix to someone stepping on a head. A broken riser is easier to fix than a broken pipe!
