Barenbrug has mixed this seed to create pastures, formulated with the top varieties for each region of the USA. These mixtures have an improved variety that allows for highly digestible, vigorous, and persistent pastures perfect for all classes of livestock. Its complex formula allows it to be used even under less than ideal conditions. Its a perfect mix for smaller acreage fields that require a long lasting, high quality pasture. Stockmaster, like horse master stands, may also be used for hayfields after it is established.
Recommended Planting Instructions:
Planting a new pasture
• Prepare seed bed by removing debris and large rocks, then tilling to a depth of 4-6”.
• Smooth soil by raking or dragging.
• Spread recommended fertilizer for your particular soil condition.
• Sow seed evenly.
• Incorporate seed and fertilizer into soil at 1/3 to 1/2” with very light raking
• Roll surface with medium weight roller to firm soil around seed.
• Keep surface moist with frequent light waterings. Seed will not germinate in dry soil.
• Mow when new plants are approximately 3” tall. Set mower on high setting, approximately 2” until new pasture is established.
Spot repair:
• Remove as much loose grass and weeds as possible.
• Loosen soil with renovator or rake as necessary to expose soil.
• Apply fertilizer.
• Sow seed evenly, taking extra care on bare spots.
• Firm the soil around seed with roller or packer
• Keep Soil moist until seed has germinated.
