$64.99
Best-Tabs Controlled Release Fertilizer Tablets (20-10-5) provide a long-lasting form of nitrogen that is broken down naturally by soil microbes. Its water insoluble formula virtually eliminates leaching from the soil through natural or manmade irrigation. Best-Tabs are a clean, safe and convenient form of fertilizer for most pre-plant and many maintenance applications. They will supply the nitrogen needed by most plants for up to 1-1/2 years. Each tablet contains the full range of essential micro nutrients for all plant needs. Each box of Best-Tabs contains 500 tablets. If ordering individually, use 1 tablet for a 1 gallon plant, 2 tablets for a 3 gallon plant, and 3 tablets for each 5 gallon plant. For larger sized plants, use 2 tablets for each 1/2 inch of trunk diameter, or 1 tablet for each 1-1/2 feet of plant height. Place tablets in backfill mixture about 6 inches below soil surface and 1 inch from the root ball. When using 2 or more tablets, place each one on opposite sides of your plant. When planting 5 gallon plants or larger, it's acceptable to place an additional tablet in the bottom of your planting hole.

What the primary nutrients do: Plants need nitrogen to produce and maintain healthy leaves with pleasing green color. Phosphorus promotes strong root growth and development. Potash (potassium) insures strong plant structure and increases resistance to stress and disease.

In areas with poor, barren soil, use a premium soil amendment like Paydirt Planting Mix to add organic matter and allow for rapid root expansion. Dig your hole at least twice as wide as the plant container, but no deeper than the height of the root ball. This will prevent settling of your backfill mixture and sinking of your plants which could cause stress, poor growth, and eventual death. When planting, use a root growth hormone like Dr. Q's Plant Tonic, or Vitamin B-1, that stimulates feeder root growth and rapidly establishes your plants.
