Compression Adapter, 1/2" Slip x .700 Poly Tubing. Use this plastic insert to connect 1/2" PVC pipe to main line drip poly tubing. Any fast or medium set PVC glue will securely connect the insert end.
Product Description
The compression fittings will connect .700 poly tubing sections in a wide variety of drip applications including repair and splicing. They are made from high quality, UV resistant black plastic. Compression fittings fit snugly on the tubing. When the tubing is pressurized by water, it expands slightly within the fitting forming a leak-proof seal. The system will remain intact up to 50 PSI, but the recommended operating pressure is 0 to 30 PSI. Once installed, never try to cut tubing out of the fittings. Firmly twist and pull the fitting and it should come off fairly easily. A little planning before installation will pay dividends since the inside edge of the fitting will lose its holding ability if the same fitting is used too many times.
How To Use Tips
For compression fittings cut the end of your tubing square before starting. Moisten the edge of the tubing (water or spit works fine) and push the tubing into the fitting with a gentle twisting motion. Once you get it past the compression edge, increase pushing pressure and the tubing will quickly reach the automatic stop notch built inside the fitting. This should occur after about 1" of tubing has been pushed onto the fitting. Tubing warmed by the sun or air temperature will install much easier than cold tubing. Make your system is blow-apart-proof by installing a 20 PSI or 30 PSI Pressure Regulator between your valve and main line tubing. Using one of our drip valve assemblies takes the guesswork out and makes the job easy.
