PLASTIC SHEETING, CLEAR (3 MIL), 10'X25'

Plastic Sheeting, Clear (3 mil), 10'x25'

Clear Plastic Sheeting, 10' x 25', 3 MIL Thick. Thinner film is good for drop cloths, furniture covers or weed barriers under mulch. Cut large holes for plants if using in the garden.
$9.99
Product Description
Sheeting ranges in thickness from 3 to 6 MIL and is available in clear or black. It blocks weeds, and has additional uses like moisture barrier, drop cloth or furniture cover. The higher the number of "MIL" the thicker the plastic.
The garden staples will help hold the plastic in place for ladscape applications.
Read below in Dr. Q's Tips for more information on how to use plastic sheeting in landscaping!

How To Use Tips
Consider weed block fabric under rockscapes instead of plastic. Weed fabrics allow free transfer of air and water, last longer and provide a healthier environment for plants. Use garden staples (listed above) to stretch and hold fabric or plastic in place before covering. When using plastics, cut a 3-foot hole for shrubs and a 4-5 foot hole for small trees.
When covering or wrapping plants for protection from cold, use burlap instead of plastic. A plastic tent acts as a siphon on very cold nights, drawing warm air out and letting cold air in. While it will protect from frost, the air under a plastic tent is frequently colder than the air outside of it! Use edging to define the area and cover soil with 2-3 inches of bark mulch. It will provide insulation and improve moisture retention while allowing the soil to "breathe".
Be sure to use a strong enough stake to support a new tree. Foliage creates wind resistance that will quickly snap or bend stakes that are too wimpy. See the diagram provided on the tree stakes product page for proper tree staking.
Use burlap to wrap or cover tender vegetation in severe weather. If you are having trouble with nematodes, use a covering of black plastic in full sun to superheat the soil and kill these pesky critters!
