Good plants for middle elevations

The winters are colder and the summers are a little bit cooler. Plant selection in these areas is different from the Las Vegas Valley.  Deciduous Fruit trees do exceptionally well in these areas but should be planted in sheltered areas to protect blossoms and developing fruit from strong winds. If fruit production is not your primary goal, plant them where you want. Citrus is frost tender and should be moved indoors for the winter in these areas. This list can also be used for other outlying areas in Southern Nevada below 4000 feet elevation.
