Clear Falling Leaves with this Multi-Purpose Lawn Rake
Regular lawn raking removes, thatch, debris, grass clippings and leaves that can block your lawn from vital nutrients, oxygen and water. For maximum performance and minimum effort, stand sideways and pull the rake across your body rather than towards you. Clean, rinse and air-dry after use. Store with the head up to preserve the tines.
How To Use Tips
Garden tools are essential for properly maintaining a garden or landscape. A basic list of tools would include a shovel, rake, hoe, hand trowel and a pruning tool. Most of the installation and maintenance can be done with these simple tools.
The various aspects of caring for a lawn or garden require tools that are specifically designed for certain functions. Using the wrong garden tool or using a garden tool wrong can be dangerous for both you and your landscape.
High quality garden tools are important for every garden. Some of the most basic garden tools are available in a variety of sizes, styles and materials. Always choose the right tool for the job you have planned.
RAKES:
Bow Rake - This is the most common, most used rake. The steel rake head is has curved bows extending from each end of the head to the handle. There are short, sharp, curved steel tines (teeth) used to break up the soil and pulverize dirt clods after it has been spaded and cultivated. Turn the rake over and use the straight back for leveling the soil for planting or for top dressing with surface mulch. Handles are usually 48 to 54 long and can either be wooden or fiberglass.
Sweep Rake (Also known as: Lawn or Leaf Rake) - Use like a broom to pull leaves and debris past the user. This fan shaped rake head can either have a straight leading edge or it can be rounded. The rake head may be metal, bamboo, or plastic.
Shrub Rake - Use to rake around small plants, shrubs, and trees to remove debris. The flexible tines may have a straight or rounded leading edge. Can have a metal, bamboo, or plastic rake head.
Landscape Rake - A wide, lightweight aluminum rake used for spreading dirt, gravel and sand.
