One of the largest Red Oaks grows to 60 feet or more. Its bark is grayish brown and has deep furrows with grayish white scaly ridge tops. Leathery leaves are 4-8 inches long with 7 pointed lobes. It bears large acorns to an inch in diameter. Full sun, any soil, deep infrequent water.
